The Irish Cricket Union today confirmed the appointment of Phil Simmons as their new National Coach.

The Ireland cricket team were guests of honour on Wednesday afternoon at a reception hosted by Irish President, Mary Mc Aleese, at Aras an Uachtarain.

The Annual General Meeting of the Irish Cricket Union will take place on Sunday 25th February 2007 at 11.00 a.m. in the Ballymascanlon Hotel.

PORTADOWN Cricket Club members will be staging an invitational multi-sports quiz in Chambers Park on Friday, March 9.

The Irish selectors have confirmed their squad of 15 for the World Cup in the West Indies, which gets under way next month. There are no changes to the fifteen originally named in August, with no injuries being reported after their participation in the World Cricket League and Intercontinental Cup.

Canadian wicketkeeper-batsman Ashish Bagai has won the inaugural ICC World Cricket League Division 1 (WCL Div. 1) Player of the Tournament award after dominating with the bat for his country.
