Re Andrew Haire - It's a fair indication that you've lost the argument when you start to have a dig at the author rather than addressing the point he made.

Well done North Down in the Irish Cup on a day when a lot of other N.C.U. teams were put to the sword. Congrats too to JT on his half century.

is this the same Andy Haire on the bus from North Down via CSNI and making a quick return trip to North Down before arriving at our current destination of Carrick? Some money spent on bus fares there!!

Would just like to congratulate Paul Stirling on his selection for the Ireland 20/20 World Cup Squad - fantastic and a well deserved achievement!

Re Mr Kennedy - I would seriously doubt that Ballymena, Bangor, Warringstown and North Down could all be given the tag of big money clubs. These 4 clubs are the last 4 winners of the Premier League in the NCU over the last decade!

Waringstown have been boosted by the fact that Kyle McCallan and James Hall will be available for the irish cup match against bready this saturday! so the team COULD look like this! i'm not always right about the team so...

James hall
Andrew Cousins
Lee Nelson
Kyle McCallan
Johnny Bushe
Tharaka Kottehewa (if over,visa problems)
Peter Hanna
Simon Harrison
Keith Morrison
Gary Kidd
Stuart Kidd
Simon Stokes

show me your clubs team for saturday!

Not normally one to advertise newspapers, but todays News Letter is well worth a look for cricket fans as todays "Bullick's View" focuses on Armagh CC President George W Breakey, a figure I'm sure plenty of you know well.

Re Wayne- Yea no hard feelings at all, had been an interesting debate but I'm not sure we will ever agree with each other! No doubt we will have the same argument next year and the year after. What sort of state is your place in at the minute- is there much prospect of play on Saturday if it says dryish?

have to take Chris Busby's part here - note Taito talks about guys playing "in ten years time". As I've posted before - where is all the so called "up & coming" talent today that was coached ten yeras ago? I note that another premier side has signed no fewer that 7 new players - what chance for their young talent? I feel the comparison between English/Scottish football is a moot point. The teams with the dough will always top the leagues. What has been the main argument about Rangers/Celtic making Scottish football a " 2 horse race" also applies in England - a 4 horse race with everyone else nowhere - Aston Villa in 6th place closer to the bottom than to the top in terms of points. This season in the NCU will be no different with the same big 2 or 3 at the top and the rest scrambling to avoid relegation - as Voltaire wrote "God is on the side of the big battalions". See - intellectual or wha'?

stevie , think last time rangers were in manchester& euro cup final they certainly left the streets of manchester looking like a NIGHTMARE . even if ronaldo leaves the 40million will buy a useful replacement ( i would let him go if he asks for transfer ), think RANGERS /CELTIC would deff give the premiership a boost as scottish football is not challenging them enough . wasnt going too tip horses 2 day but just for you i will NAP DAFAROUN 7PM GOWRAN PARK 4 /1 & ROSES FOR THE LADY 215 CHESTER 7/2

Jeff, We can all hunt for Glory. We all know that if Sky Sports hadn't ploughed the money into the game, man u and the rest of the english teams would still be struggling in Europe, just like the Scottish teams are continuing to.. I suppose apart from Liverpool, who didn't need millions to win 5 European Cups...Being a Rangers Fan is not so much fun in European Competitions. But then again, if Man U was go to out of Europe before the semi's that would be classed as a failure.... So you lot got a lot to lose in the near future, when golden boy goes to Real Madrid....

Chris - sure I will see you at Stormont on Saturday weather permitting and I will buy you a pint. The only point I am trying to make is CI have worked seriously hard, have stuck together even when they had no home ground and they are now in the premier league which should give them the platform to improve their youth system which should make them more self-sufficient in the future. Only time will tell if it is a success but in the meantime a bunch of lads have stuck together through some tought times and have played some good cricket in senior one and played in a senior cup final before that. Fair play to them.

Re- Wayne

Not completely sure that comparing the aspirations of the 11th best International Team in the World with Templepatrick Cricket Club is fair, wouldn't you agree?

I feel you are putting words in my mouth- at no stage in my post did I ever say that I had no ambition of improving or for the club to move on- there is nothing that I would want more but I wouldn't want it to happen the way CIYMS have gone about it. I don't take myself or my cricket too seriously and am more than happy playing a standard that suits my current ability- beats only being allowed to field in Section 1 anyday and you never know maybe some day I'll be able to join you 'world beaters' in Section 1 or 2.

Anyways, so as not to annoy Mr. Ed, I think we should drop the issue and get back to practicing the sun dance for the weekend- maybe then we'll have some cricket to talk about!
