Anyone any idea what happened at the CSNI appeal tonight?
Anybody know who the Waringstown skipper is for 2009?

Ronnie, a few of my teammates have been giving me similar hints, but I think I will annoy them for at least another season before I consider such a radical move!

Hopefully see you at the Park next year; maybe you will give me an lbw for a change!

saddened by the news of Jim McMorran's death. A real gentleman. Had the pleasure of being at the "old Cooke" dinner when they made him a life member. He always brought common sense to the disputes that arose in the Divisional Committee at a time when we seemed to make decisions without the lawyers getting involved. I would send my condolences to his family circle at this time.

Re the White Stick Trophy - Is Ronnie hinting that the South played a ringer or two? Maybe we should be selecting those who attended the short course!!

Re Michael Shannon

The final Section 2 table with teams on equal points ranked on NRR is now on the NCU website.

You can see how close it was as Holywood, who had to win their final match v Muckamore to guarantee their survival in Section 2, finished 3rd!

ICC Intercontinental Cup Final dates have benn decided. Apparently if it's Ireland v Namibia it will be 30 Oct-3 Nov in Port Elizabeth.
I've just been on the SA Airways site and got a quote for flights from Belfast to PE on 28th and back a week later on the 4th. £4021.47! Anyone joining me???

Ronnie
I see a photo of the NIACUS team on the NCU website. Looked like a handy enough side you had out, particularly with my old Ballymena buddy Carl playing.
If you can't win the White Stick trophy with one of the Section 2s premier all rounders in your side, the opposition must have been pretty special.
Was this the first time this season Carl played on a losing side??

was in north county attempting to play cricket for niacus in the white stick trophy... (we lost) was just wondering is there a site anywhere with photos of same? by the way still cant walk properly since, maybe be recovered by next year! if selected.

just like to say was sorry to hear saintfield were relegated in such terrible circumstances but they are a well established team and will come back strong. dont know if same would have been said if we had went down as some of our key players may have been tempted to seek a higher level after tasting some success in section 2.

congratulations has to go to big lee connor, joel maguire, rodney hassard and gavin mcnerlin for their gargantuan efforts ably supported by some stalwarts and up and coming players at dundrum.
surely if the flood gods are kind to us next season and practice is better supported we will build on our first tentative steps up the leagues..

Well said Bruce.
Age isn"t a factor,as long as there"s a fire still rageing in the belly and steel in the soul, you have 90% of a successful team. The other 10% is luck and a bit of practice.
Anyway there is no substitute for experience!

RE Michael Shannon & Ageism

I think Downpatrick were sweating all the way up until the second last week of the season even with Geoffrey's performances with the ball.

Perhaps their talented thirtysomething "youngsters" will show us their true form next year.

Yes Taito I did bite!!

PS It does not matter what age you are as long as you show passion and retain a competitive edge, you can still succeed.

Micheal , you arent wrong jeff has that nack of taking crucial wickets. I wasnt talking about gerriatrics in general. You certiantly still have a lot to offer hollywood yourself.

I hope dickie is just as sporting against us on the hockey pitch tomorrow, and doesnt mind a gentle slagging in the pub tomorrow night.
