I would just like to wish both Coops and Shieldsy and their boys all the best for the final. It is a really hard one to call and i am sure it will be a great final. Enjoy it boys, having been on both of ends of winning and losing a senior cup final it is such a great experience in playing in the final. Somebody keep me posted on the scores as i am stuck in god dam work on friday.
Great NCU Cup Final Preview article - small omission of Ireland's Derek Heasley - truly a man for the big occasion - a wonderful person and a real home grown match winner who will have a major bearing on the final result - GO DEEKO!!!
Yes agree with the other posters, excellence feature articles on here and well written by the editor.
The senior cup final on Friday should be very entertaining and a great advertisement for local club cricket, maybe go to that game instead of Pollock Pk. on Saturday !
Would also like to congratulate former Cregagh C.C. player and now N.C.U. umpire Richard Walker on his appointed as one of those who will be officiating in the final of the minor qualifying Cup.
Well deserved Richard and who knows, maybe next year you will be doing the Senior Cup final !
re Paul C My danger man is all rounder Ben Mccord an im sure NORTH DOWN have lots match winners so it deff not all about Craig Mcmillan
Hi Davy,
Great to hear from you and apologizes to Cliftonville. We'll have it corrected. I'm working my way through senior cup stats and I'm up too late at night so the odd mistake is inevitable. However, your name features prominently and I'll make sure there are no omissions there!
RE Challenge Cup Final
With only 3 days to go can CIYMS cause an upset by beating North Down at home? Is it all about Craig McMillan?
GRAHAM CUP FINAL
The Graham Cup final will now take place at Carrick on 13th August.
I want to take the opportunity of thanking both Artie Campbell and Ryan Haire for their assistance.
Good luck to both teams.
Irish Senior Cup:
Excellent article Clarence, always enjoy Reading them.
May I correct you by saying Cliftonville were the last NCU finalists in 2001 when we were beaten North County.
Good luck to Waringstown in the ISC . It would be great to see an NCU winner again.
Neale Matthews has been having a rattle at the said "Stu" on the "other" site. I have met the said gentleman on one occasion and it was clear from his demeanour, and from conversations with others in Dublin, that he brings a considerable amount of "baggage" to his reporting. As on other postings - lets see the Villagers let the cricket do the talking!!
I forgot to say that Mr Daltrey has also been very quick to dismiss Fox Lodge's chances in their semi final, and they will feel they have a point to prove. A Waringstown v Foxies final would be good craic.
The best response that Waringstown can give to Stu Daltrey's article is to go on and win the Irish Cup this year. Hopefully Waringstown can make the final, and then we can all have a good day out cheering them on.
Clarence both the Waringstown & Noel McCarey articiles excellent as usual and im quite sure Waringstown can win the cup and just on young Josh Hall everyone in Dundrum was very impressed at just how good all rouder he is and have no doubt he will be top class player . Right as everyone but my wife knows i like a gamble and have few bets on backing CIYMS TOO WIN THE SENIOR CUP and think UNDER DOGS MUCKAMORE can win the 20/20 on sunday an im sure Dickie Owens will be pleased too here ive tipped CLIFTONVILLE to win the shield 20/20 so any other players or supporters or forumites fancy who will win the 3 cups im quite sure Hiler will be going for his beloved comber lads. The bar takings will be thru the roof id say.ps two young players from Instonians under 13 too look out for Ben Mellor and Thomas Luke
Waringstown Article...
Good article Hiler and straight to the point as well.
Similar to Ryan...i will be 100% behind the men from the Lawn in their quest for Irish cup glory.
Good luck lads...

Re Waringstown article..
Great article Clarence..Im right behind the WCC boys for the ISC. Really do hope (and believe) that they can do it in the semi and progress.
PS.Just ignore "Stu" he is one sad man.
Still quite a few important matches to be played yet around the various cricket leagues as we begin the 'run in' to the cricket season !
And though & behold.. when I attended net practice at Lurgan Park last nite, a good turn out were already 'beavering' away with the bat & ball !!
Usually come this time of the season at Victoria C.C. thoughts of other sports begin to linger and some players begin to drift away to play football, or indeed watch a certain Irish league football club, associated with Lurgan !
But not this season, (Not yet anyway), " Au-contraire", as Del boy would say !
No indeed, guess who has signed now for our club and was training away very keenly with the lads last nite ?
None other than the former Glenavon goal-keeper, from the Caymen Islands, West-Indies Tudor Murphy!
What 'a catch' he seems to be ! Quick bowler combined with a great eye in his head for a cricket ball and with a bit of 'fine tuning' from me he will do very well indeed, only thing is though !
Looks like no cricket match again this Saturday for me!
Ah well, there's always shopping with Mrs. Johns or wallpapering the spare bedroom (again) to look forward to !
Of course watching a premier league cricket match would be a much more pleasing pastime ! Maybe get that shopping & wallpapering done today, is Lurgan at home this Saturday ?
