Clarence both the Waringstown & Noel McCarey articiles excellent as usual and im quite sure Waringstown can win the cup and just on young Josh Hall everyone in Dundrum was very impressed at just how good all rouder he is and have no doubt he will be top class player . Right as everyone but my wife knows i like a gamble and have few bets on backing CIYMS TOO WIN THE SENIOR CUP and think UNDER DOGS MUCKAMORE can win the 20/20 on sunday an im sure Dickie Owens will be pleased too here ive tipped CLIFTONVILLE to win the shield 20/20 so any other players or supporters or forumites fancy who will win the 3 cups im quite sure Hiler will be going for his beloved comber lads. The bar takings will be thru the roof id say.ps two young players from Instonians under 13 too look out for Ben Mellor and Thomas Luke
Waringstown Article...
Good article Hiler and straight to the point as well.
Similar to Ryan...i will be 100% behind the men from the Lawn in their quest for Irish cup glory.
Good luck lads...

Re Waringstown article..
Great article Clarence..Im right behind the WCC boys for the ISC. Really do hope (and believe) that they can do it in the semi and progress.
PS.Just ignore "Stu" he is one sad man.
Still quite a few important matches to be played yet around the various cricket leagues as we begin the 'run in' to the cricket season !
And though & behold.. when I attended net practice at Lurgan Park last nite, a good turn out were already 'beavering' away with the bat & ball !!
Usually come this time of the season at Victoria C.C. thoughts of other sports begin to linger and some players begin to drift away to play football, or indeed watch a certain Irish league football club, associated with Lurgan !
But not this season, (Not yet anyway), " Au-contraire", as Del boy would say !
No indeed, guess who has signed now for our club and was training away very keenly with the lads last nite ?
None other than the former Glenavon goal-keeper, from the Caymen Islands, West-Indies Tudor Murphy!
What 'a catch' he seems to be ! Quick bowler combined with a great eye in his head for a cricket ball and with a bit of 'fine tuning' from me he will do very well indeed, only thing is though !
Looks like no cricket match again this Saturday for me!
Ah well, there's always shopping with Mrs. Johns or wallpapering the spare bedroom (again) to look forward to !
Of course watching a premier league cricket match would be a much more pleasing pastime ! Maybe get that shopping & wallpapering done today, is Lurgan at home this Saturday ?
For obvious reasons i'll have to say North Down mate-been there, done it & have that winning mentality when it matters, never mind playin' on their home turf!!!
See you on the green baize & want a crisp five-pound note this time,no pound coins, collect enough of those singin' Westlife songs in Cornmarket!!
See ya Fri mate:-)
TURK , i had a tap in black to beat u by 3 balls but u stood over the pocket an started singing WESTLIFE then snooked me twice so it was hard earned 5£. yes was great craic an have say Cliftonville lads as good as party lads after game ive met ! just done report wwww.dundrumcc.com have look by the way the indian academy touring team scored 212 in 25 overs on the same wicket next day they were class young 16 yr old Mandar scored 51 future star but they played superb dellon went for 37 in four overs im goin watch them at donacloney thurs they playing a professional 11 start 530 aprox be fireworks a plenty mate . their wil be divorces next week double cup final weekend at comber an game sat , so i might try get my fiver back on fri ill take CIYMS win senior cup ?
Jeff, just wanna say thanks for all your craic & hospitality on my first meeting of yourself & your wonderful wee ground.
Keep up the fantastic work you're doin' at the club & as we all know you're a man who likes the odd wee wager so sorry i had to take that fiver off you-did no-one tell you i played in the Ballyclare Pool League!!!!!
Stephen - really enjoyable experience and your pal was the first to introduce himself on arrival at the ground. Saw two young quick bowlers, Nicky Chaunce & Gavin Griffiths, who are definitely 2 for the future, certainly for Lancashire. Interesting chat in the clubhouse afterwards and to hear the views of some of the guys on the selection of "foreigners" for England. And I thought it was only me who felt that way!!!
Andy Kennedy.
Mr McCulloch actually had 3 for 24 off ten overs. Including the pro and Philip McCormick. Not bad for a player now nicknamed "the administrator " by his teammates.
Andy K -
I hope my mate "Fazza", the left arm spinner for Ormskirk, didn't throw the toys out too much on Saturday!!! He normally has a wee tantrum at some stage if they are losing!!!
re Stat Man
think you might find Saintfield have scored 300+ twice as well!! well done to Rosco on Saturday on his hattrick
stat man - a certain club from the Comber area has managed that. Having just return from Liverpool (cricket not football!) I was delighted, as I'm sure "Davy" was, to learn that Mr. McCullough got a couple of wickets on Saturday. Not bad for someone who "doesn't bowl"!! Also congratulations to Jason on his fantastic knock yesterday
340 scored by Victoria yesterday. Am I correct in saying that they are the only team to have scored 300+ twice this season?
A very rare event occurred yesterday(Saturday), I was without a game of cricket ! What with my non selection for our 1st eleven!! And the late rearrangement of our 3rd's home game,to another day, I was at a loss as to what to do ?
On hearing this profound news, the good Mrs.Johns suggested a day in Belfast shopping or the possibility of re-wallpapering the spare bedroom (again) !
But such ludicrous ideas were soon dispelled, when I suggested we head out for a family pic-nic and despite the lite drizzle outside, an agreement was reached !
As it happens the venue was to be a few miles only down the road at Pollock Pk. home of Lurgan C.C. where the host team were entertaining CIYMS C.C. and I was keen to see their ex. New-Zealand test player in action.
And I wasn't dissappointed, the weather brightened up and during the course of our hastily prepared meal, it was a treat to watch 4's & 6's being dispatched over the long boundary ropes with consumate ease as McMillan scored 113 !
But in defence of the Lurgan attack, they were very unluckly not to get some more tight LBW appeals in their favour and during their own innings in reply, Viljoen's own knock was equally brilliant if a little less billigerent than their opposition's Pro !
Anyway a great family day out watching a premier league cricket match, loads of room at Lurgan's fantastic huge ground, the kids played in the practice nets between innings, there were football goal posts, rugby posts and we even brought the tennis rackets and we played 'the lot' ! plus I had a few pints to top it all off in the club house.
What puzzles me though is, why a club with the ground and facilities like Lurgan have, are sitting at the bottom of the 'pile' ? Doesn't seem right if they're playing next season in Section One, "come on lads, pull it out of 'the fire" !!
I would like to express my frustration and annoyance at the fact that the outstanding Quoile Cup quarter final between Armagh and North Down was settled by a coin toss. As a parent of a North Down youngster I am fully aware of the lengths that North Down have gone to get this fixture played only to be greeted by negativity from Armagh. The original date for the game was 25th June but this did not suit Armagh because of the Ireland game and every subsequent attempt to fix a date (bar one that fell foul to the weather) was greeted with “doesn’t suit” or “can’t get a team”. The last attempt was to take place tomorrow night but because Armagh cannot field a team it has been decided by the dreaded coin toss which would at least give Armagh a 50-50 chance of winning – and guess who won. I have just broken the news to my son who is understandably upset. His performances in the competition and those of his team mates did not deserve to exit in this fashion. To us it may only be an under 11 competition but to the boys it is a big deal. They, and the competition, deserve better.
