Interesting comment, clearly a problem in Scotland too - If we could investigate and implement something similar here, it might just save our game
On the topic of inducements etc I think it's very topical that in Scotland Dunfirmeline CC have been relegated as reported on CricketEurope after admitting making payments to players above the agreed guidlelines laid down by Cricket Scotland. Anyone know how that works ? How is it controlled ?
It probably begs the question how were Dunfirmeline so stupid to get caught?
Paul,
Ulster Shield Rounds Sundays June 3, 17, July 1, August 5 (final)
Ulster Plate Rounds Sundays June 10, 24, July 8, August 12 (final)

Has a provisional date been set for the 1st Round of Ulster Shield and plate completion? With NCU junior leagues fixtures meetings next wk it would be good to know which Sunday these cup completions may be played.
Daniel, there is no all Ireland competition being introduced for 2nd XI's. The only inter provincial competition for 2nd XI's will again be the Ulster Plate. Draw will be made for this and the Ulster Shield on 14 December
Is the proposed Irish Junior Cup happening this year for 2nd XIs? If so does anyone know when the draw is being made?
This discussion has been intriguing but at the end of the day players are going to move clubs for many different reasons. Would I be angry if someone left my club after learning their trade there? Probably yes but not if they where moving on to bigger or better things.
Clubs are also going to approach players who they think will make a positive impact on their club. I personally have no issue with this either. It is hardly much of a crime to ask a player whether he wants to move or not. All he has to do is say no and then that is the argument.
On another note good to see the aghy back in the Irish Cup, albeit with a big road trip ahead.

If you are doing a law degree then you should know the difference between slander and libel
I would be interested to learn how I have "slandered" the poster called "McCullough"? I have never heard of you before but I would challenge YOU to identify yourself & enlighten me as to where I have posted any inaccuracies. Maybe you have a wee bit to go before completing YOUR law degree!!
OK last word on the subject. Some are annoyed by anonymity. Some like Andy have a realistic solution. Bottom line is Andy Mccrea was concerned his coached players were being tapped for inducements. Are calls for moves ethically correct if a financial inducement is included? Is it right that ordinary players reap this financial reward? My take is that if you are looking for a local player that is prepared to put time and effort into bringing that club forward then that is a decision that a club and player must take but suggest that it is done openly. It’s up to each person/club’s conscience that a move is a beneficial one for all concerned (moving from and to). I would however look at the NW and say that it is an obviously touchy subject in an amateur sport that needs a formal solution and not a ‘you know nothing’ approach on forums. Maybe one for working groups. No offence to anyone is the intention here
Sorry Dazzler.
You fitted in so well I just assumed you were home-bred! However, I must have missed at least six. Sign of old age!
taito is pretty steady and sensible. these thengs are happening every day,.its just the prowlers want to act like old women again and bitch because of jealousy........as for andy kennedy. get your facts straight before my law gegree is finished.,,I would have have you for slander so easily...do be careful to check out your remarks before printing
Read a worrying headline on the ceefax last nite, England's Graham Swann reckons Test matches and T20 are the future for cricket and that he doesn't even enjoy the 50 over one day format of the sport anymore !
Hope he's in the minority with that one!
On the subject of players changing cricket clubs, I once tried a couple of different ones over the course of my career, but didn't last very long with either.
They even paid me a few quid and then told me ..." Please don't come back again Caleb !!
Taito did you receive money when you were at CI?
(another pinch of salt required maybe)
Re Dazzler
It actually does matter when you're trying to grow roots in an "amateur" club
Too many jumped up "local hero's" who actually think their world beaters (laughable) Maybe the IPL should check out the NCU for talent
