With the sun finally breaking through in the NW, how's it looking for this weekends round of Club Turf matches in the NCU? I guess one stump bowling practice needed for Sunday!!!

Deeply saddened by the passing of Charles Beverland - a true gentleman and great competitor who never flinched or gave an inch - gutsy and a vital cog in the superb NICC 80's machine. Rest in Peace.

Very sad news to hear of Charles Beverland's death yesterday.
Charles was a lovely man whether on the cricket field where we had many battles with each other or off the field when we just loved chatting about sport in general.
Charles was the rock of North's batting line up for many years and became the first amateur to score 1000 N.C.U. runs in a season.
Deepest condolences to Betty,Emma,Megan,Charles,Chloe,Patrick and the entire family circle, from everyone at North Down Cricket Club.

Magnificent Ireland!
Hats off to the boys for a great win.
Look at Connell's figures! Will he now be snapped up by a county or maybe New Zealand?

Andy K - re Don Savage. The answer is that you can't. It is not for sale, Don had a number (maybe a few hundred) of copies printed which he distributed to family and friends, members of Lisburn CC and some of those who he met and shared tales with from over clubs over the last 50/60 years. I am sure there is a copy kicking around the Lisburn CC bar however, so next time you are umpiring at the Park, you can maybe have a read over a pint after the game (subject to your performance ;-)

I see that Clarence has a feature on a book by Don Savage. I recall doing a turn at a Lisburn dinner but he was the "star" turn with his review of the season in verse. Can anybody tell me where I can buy a copy?

Re Paul Stafford - I simply make the point! The bowl out that we facilitated on Sunday - the ball was dry - they didn't leave it lying around in the rain - and as it had been covered the pitch was relatively dry yet the score was 2-0. And one guy turned it square.
