chris, I can only tell that in section 1 what your saying is correct, two goes at match 1, then match 2 is 20/20. if that cannot then be played the game is a no result. Neither team getting any points. i am not sure if section 2 is the same. So basically i have been no use to you at all.

Jeff your quiet today??? Not stirring the pot before two local derbies in 5 days? 20/20 game agianst dundrum at stangford road tonight should be good im sure there will be a bit of friendly banter

Thanks for the reply Ryan! Its probably something we should get confirmed because when we do (if ever) start playing if we end up playing 50 over matches when we should be playing 20/25 then I can see alot of matches being voided!

My understanding of the rules is that there are two match 1's if the game is called off because of bad weather (which will obviously be the majority of matches) so match 2 (which is actually the third attempt) would have to be a shortened game!

Can anybody confirm?

re Chris,

My reading of the rules was that on the second rearrangement the option was available to play a 25 over match, not sure whether it was compulsory or not though.

As for a match being voided, presumably if it isn't played by the end of September!

Any fixture secretaries got any hair left? :D

Quick question- trying to make sure of the rules here!

Am I right in thinking that a game rained off twice in Section 2 (formally 3) MUST then be a 20/20 ie. It can't be a 50 over match even if both teams agree? This is the impression I have got looking at the NCU book.

Additionally, is there any stage at which a match is voided because it has been rained off too many times?

Cheers

Great to see some key contributions from a number of Ireland players in the matches yesterday. Their increased professionalism and Ireland committments mean they cant always feature but when they do they can make the difference.

Almost did the same with the Fox Lodge and Donemana results James!
That's the great thing about sport because you can come onto forums and bum and blow all you like but its the results that count. We've a few forumites that can't see any farther than the Glenshane Pass but they can easily whind a few people up!

On behalf of NIACUS, I want to pass our condolences on to the Beverland family following the recent passing of Charlie. It is hard to know what to say in these circumstances - our thoughts are with you. I know from my colleagues that Charlie was a great cricketer and a good friend to NIACUS over the years. We are all very sorry for your loss.
