re Roy Young/Junior Leagues

The delay in detailing the structures for the new Junior Leagues is due to the fact that clubs have until the 30th November to register their club and team information via the new electronic entry system. The vast majority of clubs have done this but until all this information has been received by the NCU then the final set up for the Junior League structure cannot be finalised. Some clubs have entered new teams and others have withdrawn some teams. Until the cut off date the make up of each section would merely be guesswork.
In fact your local club (Ards I think?) initially withdrew their 3rd XI for 2011 but have since told us that they will be entering a 3rd XI in 2011.

You are correct in that the old Division 3 Section 1 will be placed above the lower half of the old Division 2 Section 3.

And once again can I kill off this notion that the NCU only cares about the Premier/First XI cricket – this is not the case and never has been since I have been involved. Speak to any one involved with the Junior Task Force and you will realise that these ideas were not dreamed up over night but involved a lot of work, time and discussion with all interested clubs.

2011 Season Structure - Junior League

Having not been at the recent NCU AGM - I have been waiting for a release of the new junior league structure. I hear that old Div 3 Sec 1 will be above old 2:3 - but that was only on this site.
My local team 2nd XI are/were in the old 2:3 and I was keen to hear what new league they will be in and how many overs they will play.
Will there be some sort of official press release or is junior league cricket not that important?

As for Danny....I assume you are not serious as the batting averages for those 'real' CI guys is poor. As for Hughes - his last 3 wkts were msrs Sutherland, Haire & Khan of North Down no less.

have to ask Danny if he was being a wee bit rhetorical over the CI averages on the "revamped site". "Hinky" 273 runs,"Looky" 151 runs and "Tony" 38 overs. If these are who I think they are I would describe them as top performances at "the highest level" - but then what would I know?

If Belmont could sort out their gate- entry system then they could be possible Cup final hosts! Also Dundrum could be another venue for the more junior cup finals - especially if "local" sides were the contestants

Just saw the club averages on our re-vamped web site and its good to see three or four of the CI guys with black blue and white blood in their veins performing creditably at the highest level - big well done to Hinky,Looky,Tony and Hughesy !(Ps I would just like to say that most people belive Hughesy only got batsmen number 9,10,or 11 out but I can confirm he did also get a few number 8's out as well ! LOL)

Jeff - good to see you boys getting your sports grant - I do hope you aren't going to blow it on the horses !Any tips for any of the meetings coming up ?

Jeff,

Good idea to bring in the consultants but there is an array of advice locally. N Hunter for one in his grounds role. Although too many cooks and all that ! Good luck, get that artificial down!

P Edwards - yes forgot Belmont, nice ground at a new club so could be considered after a few years.

Taito - I was talking minor cup finals - no way did I think the Challenge Cup final would be played at Dundrum. However, the minor qualifying or Lindsay Minor Cup. What would be wrong with this for 2011:

Challenge Final - Wallace Park, Lisburn
Junior Cup Final - Hollywood
Intermediate Cup - Muckamore
Lindsay Minor - Templepatrick
Minor Qual - Dundrum
Twenty20 final - Muckamore

Just an idea.....
