Just saw the club averages on our re-vamped web site and its good to see three or four of the CI guys with black blue and white blood in their veins performing creditably at the highest level - big well done to Hinky,Looky,Tony and Hughesy !(Ps I would just like to say that most people belive Hughesy only got batsmen number 9,10,or 11 out but I can confirm he did also get a few number 8's out as well ! LOL)
Jeff - good to see you boys getting your sports grant - I do hope you aren't going to blow it on the horses !Any tips for any of the meetings coming up ?
When are the NCU cup draws due to be made?
many thanks to everyone who contacted me as their help was priceless so hopefuly we can overcome the hurdles in reaching the next step in getting what we are looking for .ps it was 28000£
Dundrum cricket club received a grant from sport ni of 24000£ which is excellent news which will enable us have double sight screens at both ends new portable nets bowling machine an fieldin machine all which will enable more people to get better practice an a new artifical wicket just if any other club also putting in artifical could they contact me on 02843751442/07730334479 or weedy50@hotmail.co.uk as any advice would be very helpful many thanks
Hey, just letting anyone know who might be interested that Ballymena CC have a new facebook page if they wanted to keep in touch with goings on at the club
Roy
As a committee member of Templepatrick I would love to see a cup final coming to our ground but i think next year is a bit soon as I personnaly would like to see another year for the square to bed in and for the drainage to properly take effect
We had notification of the result of our SportNI application yesterday. I think you are supposed to contact them if you don't hear by the end of today.
Andy you should have got something through the post this week. Decisions have been made. Very tight scheme lots of applications.
have any clubs received notification from sport ni regarding their grant for sport matters yet?
Jeff,
Good idea to bring in the consultants but there is an array of advice locally. N Hunter for one in his grounds role. Although too many cooks and all that ! Good luck, get that artificial down!
P Edwards - yes forgot Belmont, nice ground at a new club so could be considered after a few years.
Taito - I was talking minor cup finals - no way did I think the Challenge Cup final would be played at Dundrum. However, the minor qualifying or Lindsay Minor Cup. What would be wrong with this for 2011:
Challenge Final - Wallace Park, Lisburn
Junior Cup Final - Hollywood
Intermediate Cup - Muckamore
Lindsay Minor - Templepatrick
Minor Qual - Dundrum
Twenty20 final - Muckamore
Just an idea.....
Congrats to Ivan and Stephen on their induction to the Hall of Fame.
Clearly two superb ambassadors and cricketers. I dont know Stephen that well but i always enjoy Ivans company at the odd cricket game and Grasshopper nights throughout the year.
Congrats to you both. Much deserved.
The Ireland cricket team did'nt poach any English player, they just reclaimed back one of their own !
Maybe if it doesn't work out for Morgan, he will come back to the fold as well, although in saying that, hope the lad gets onto the Test team down under and has a good Ashes tour. (They'll need somebody too !)
Nice to see Ivan Anderson & Stephen Warke inducted into the Irish Cricketing hall of fame.(Mighty players indeed)!
Who says we don't produce any talent ?
For a small country with limited resourses, inclement weather, etc. We 'punch' well above our weight and even produce the odd sporting genius and world superstar every now & again !
Bye the way, did anyone see that premier league match last nite, (Man.City-v-Man.Utd.), I could'nt find any cricket on my new Sky sports upgrade, so I stole myself an hour or so to watch it. Dear, dear, dear !
Hard to believe they actually pay those players, when that's the best they can do ! Dreadful !!
Roll on the 25th Nov. To we see some decent entertainment!!
Ryan , my thinkn too but we will be contacting Worcester an experts as we hoping get artifical in for juniors an talkin too experts as lot cash involved an no point wasting it, but its all part of improvements including double sight screens at both ends.
Jeff.
Dont put in clay wickets! They really need a fast draining ground...each ground is different and should be treated accordingly!
