Re Andy Clement article.
I can understand why he would be annoyed being called a "G&T man ". He's been a vodka and coke man for the past 25 years.

I think that's a bit unfair on Cooke. They made themselves available to play matches. They also won a lot of points on the field.Over the last ten years they have played more Section Two cricket than certainly Academy and probably Dunmurry.I was surprised Templepatrick didn't make a bigger push for promotion,I keep hearing they have a lot of good young players who should be testing themselves at a higher level.

cooke awarded 8 points without playing and promoted to section 2. if a team deserves to stay in section 3 it is them. dunmurry + academy by far are the 2 best teams in the league. section 3 this year is a farce

Premier League;
I predict N. Down to roar back (wounded tiger) and win Saturday's game with CSNI.
Now I wonder if Carrick and/or Instonians can have a say on who will be champions come Sunday evening!!!

been off the air for a while so am just catching up on the past few weeks. Reading Hiler's "feature" about socialising brought back many many memories of nights spent in the company of good guys. I know that society has changed - or should I say has been allowed to change by the attitude of guys who "have" to be home straight after the match - and games finished late in "those days" as well.
On excuses for not playing - what about "have to change my library books"!! Funny enough that guy was never asked to play again!!

If ND and CSNI finish with the same number of wins, the trophy is shared. Net run rate does not come into play.

At the other end, CIYMS, with one game left, would need to get royally humped by Waringstown to go down judging by the run rates last available, and given there would not appear to have been a huge change in the differences between theirs and Cliftonville over the last weekend, you would fancy CI to survive.

Re: Micheal.

yes it certaintly is going to be a good finish to senior 1. Can anyone confirm is the title just shared or does that also go down to net run rate?

Tight at the bottom of that league too, that could go down to net run rate. I would like to see Hughesy and his CI boys staying up

Will the title be shared if North Down beat CSNI or will it be decided on nett run rate ?.If so what permatations does each side need.

Not in a position to either confirm or deny the rumours, as availability of some players is still uncertain, and team for Saturday has not yet been selected. That's as much as you will get I'm afraid!

Premier League- The final games will decide who will be champions.
I predict N. Down to come storming back like a wounded tiger and defeat CSNI on Saturday and then I wonder can Carrick and Instonians have a say in who is crowned champs on Sunday?

After 18 Section 2 related posts in a row, this forum is in danger of becoming the ulstersection2cricketer.com forum.

Always interesting to hear the goings-on from there though, and the relegation battle seems to have been keenly contested.

This weekend's Section 1 cricket revolves around the North Down and CSNI games. Rumour has it that CSNI are missing quite a few players for Saturday (Thompson, Wilson, Heaney, Horwood been mentioned, maybe Vanburn can confirm or deny). What odds a shared title this season?

At least it looks like it will be decided on the pitch with the weather looking pretty tasty for the rest of the week. Good luck to both sides in what has been a good battle for the trophy.

maybe justice would be done if dundrum got a couple of wins and stayed up, with although no fault of their own hollywood getting four points out of lurgan's inability to field a team.

Good wishes to Saintfield too!

It would take quite a swing in net run rates for Saintfield to go down though.

As there is a straightforward fight between ourselves, Holywood and Dundrum for the remaining relegation place my best wishes to those involved was tongue in cheek.

Having had some great matches against Dundrum in the last few years I would love them to stay up, however we've also had some memorable games against Holywood in recent years for various reasons. Sometimes there's more action off the pitch than on it so if they went down it would also be a big loss.

We're not out of it ourselves, I just hope we don't have to rely on other teams giving us a helping hand or waiting for the net run rates to be produced next Sunday evening.

Like I said before I hope relegation is sorted out by the teams doing the business on the pitch and not dependant on the weather.
