clarence never doubted that you wouldnt cover it & again its well written just would like to add that they are real top fellas , funniest thing it reminded me of my 2nd game back after 2 brain operations ( yes they coundnt find the first time ) i got clapped to the wicket by all their players even big greenlees was tearful but after i hit the first ball to the boundary he informed his team enuff sentimental crap and to get the fat twat( i thought i had lost weight in hospital) out so we can get few beers .lol ps armagh bet you its easier to get davy greenlees out than get the microphone of him as the last time they stayed over in dundrum i thought he was performing his farewell concert . see you sat for more than few beers .
Nice article on Academy Clarence, Im sure we can come up with a new nickname for Jonny 'ironsy' Irons after your article.
Was nice to read up on the history of the club and all the old timers ( only joking BB,BK,DG )
Quite a few similarities between Cliftonville and Academy. I wonder how many players in the past have represented both teams.
Good club to play for. Well done Lads
CLARENCE , HOPE YOUVE PLANNED A FEATURE ON ACADEMY RETAINING THE JUNIOR CUP ( 3 TIMES IN 5 YEARS ) AS THEY SAY THEIRS MORE TOO LIFE THAN THE PREMIER LEAGUE & THE MASTER RACE .
Big Jeff i will gladly help sink a keg at the Academy but please tell Dellon and Andy not to bowl us out too early as i might be at Shaw's Bridge destroying Instonians 2's with my slow left arm Doosras!!!
indeed congratulations to academy, slightly dissapointed on the lack of coverage though.
Congrats to the academy boys on another victory. Question for big hittin Davy G "Do you still have the bat that was brought out at Fox Lodge some 10 years ago in the bar"?? Still makes me laugh that one.
BRIAN , I HAVE NO GRIPES WITH ANY ARMAGH PLAYER(S) FOR THOSE WHO DONT NO I WASNT PLAYING & CERTAINLY DONT OR NEVER WILL AGREE THE REASON WHY THE DUNDRUM TEAM REFUSED A SUB ,AS IVE ALWAYS PLAYED HARD & FAIR ( AND ALWAYS WALKED UNLIKE SOME) NOT YOU BRIAN ?PS WILL YOU SELL ME A MEDAL ? GET EXTRA KEGS IN AS BY GOD CLIFTONVILLE CAN DRINK +_ WE MIGHT GET 2 HOURS IN AND I WILL HAVE PINT ON WITH BIG DAVY THAT THEY BEAT US ?
DAVY MENAUL THAT SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN PROBABLY HAVE TO FIGHT GREENLEES TO GET THE MICROPONE OF HIM AS FOR SECTION ONE OR WHAT EVER THEY CALL IT THE BEAUTY ABOUT CRICKET IS DUNDRUM COULD BE IN SECTION FOUR IN 2 SEASONS BUT THEY STILL ENJOY THEIR SPORT , PS SEE YOU SAT AT THE CLUB & THINK THE BEERS ARE ON YOU DG
Great idea Davy. Dundrum and yourselves would be very welcome to call in for a few beers at the Academy Club. As coincidence would have it, we are at home to Armagh on Saturday. Maybe we could bring a few of their players back with us for a chat with Jeff. Anyone want to reserve a ringside seat?
A massive congratulations to Mark Shields ( Deservedly MOM, sorry DG ) and the Academy boys for retaining the Junior Cup and for their 3rd win in 5 years.
Great effort lads.
Anyone for 3 in a row?
Looking forward to having a few beers with the Dundrum Boys on Saturday. Think we could start of at the Chim then round to the sports club to drink out of the Junior cup with the Academy boys.
re Academy.
Terrific achievement from the Academy team, to retain any cup competition is a superb effort and their recent dominance of the Junior Cup competition is some going. Hopefully Armagh can spoil a cup homecoming this Saturday mind! ;)
Well down davy from Millpark as well some achievment to retain it nevermind win it!!! wish id went to watch now :( hopefully see yous again next year when you can get me out twice maybe even 3 times LBW again ;)
many thanks, Jeff for your kind words and support, I have to give credit to Waringstown for their fighting spirit in coming back from 67-8 on Saturday to post 156 and again tonight from 60-0 to make it very difficult for ourselves.
Trust all is well down in Dundrum established section 1 side now
Re Rodney.
If you think that is how a team would celebrate winning a league then you must be as starved of success as we have been! Any future Armagh v Dundrum clashes will probably mean more to you than they will to us because its your lads who keep talking about them!
great too see ACADEMY win the junior cup AGAIN , fair play to them from all at dundrum cc
