didn't hear the U105 programme - Flossie hadn't got back from the town with a newly charged wet battery!
Coloured clothing in all senior cricket? White ball - black screens in sections 2,3 & 4? It was hard enough to get some Premier sides to get the 15 yard circles marked in this season's senior cup! I appreciate that everything is up for debate but when sides in 3 & 4 don't have D/L and its implications for the length of games nor in many cases a nominated scorer I think Mr. McCarter may have to wait a while!!
Jason its obvious that you have faced the odd beamer from the Clogher Boys i haven,t played them myself , so there you go Vic watch the beamers as well get your tin hat on !!! i still wouldn,t like to get hit with a beamer or bouncer !! Regarding umpiring the NCU should make each club have at least 4 members take the course it would help the game , in England small village clubs are asked to bring a umpire or scorer or both to each match
Some interesting questions posted by the NCU. One of the questions posted regarding all senior matches being played in coloured clothing caught my eye. Obviously this topic is being considered and having watched a few senior cup matches this year I would be very much in favour of it. However, this change would involve a considerable cost to all the clubs involved. If this is to be the way forward I think the NCU would have to act very very quickly or set a date maybe 2 or 3 seasons away for this change to come into effect. In the long run from a club point of view I think this change could save money but I wouldn’t want to be placing an order for 30 or 40 standard cricket shirts to be told you can't wear them next season!!!
Good morning men.
Yes indeed,as the English Cont'ent gentleman points out one bad game looks to have cost us dear, although we'll be able to watch England ofcourse. Hope they don't flatter only to decieve and yet again get dumped out in the early rounds!!!
Anyway more importantly, Cricket. Good to see the NCU Development Comittee Questionnaire published on the site.
Certainly there's one question I'll immediately address and thats Qu.8b
Our game needs more umpires not less, their involvement is cruicial to the smooth running of any match and I for one don't like to have do umpire myself, when I'm already playing!
Whats the solution;
May I propose that we pay them a bit more money. Even if it means all the clubs throwing a bit more into the 'Kitty', so what, it would be money well spent.
They are as important as the players themselves,we need them, so lets make it worth their while and time.
Cheers Gerry, w'ell give 110% for sure.
Gerry with ref the Vic going to Clogher i think you meant watch the beamers not the bouncers???
oh i nearly forgot well done Australia on another one day victory !! [ boy that was hard to say ] only 4 more to go what odds on 7-0 [ Jeff ] ??
Very disappointing about the football [is it really over is there no ifs or buts ] hardlines to Wales & Scotland and well done England !! Stevie you watch that M1 its very dangerous when you are sitting on it!! Vic it is good to get a win so all the best for sat. and watch the bouncers !!!
Stevie Max,
I also heard the request on u105 but it wasn't my request. Vic hope your not too disappointed after last nights result at Windsor. One bad game cost you.
We didn't win at the Park but our supporters were magnificent!
No complaints about ticket prices, no booze brought in to the ground, no cans thrown, no assaults, no finger gestures, no goading the fans,no whingin, and everybody peeing in the right place.
Happy days are back again.....la la la la la..
Gerry,
I was sitting on the M1 in heavy traffic heading home and there was a request for the 'english contingent' at the NCU asking george to wish England all the best for tonights game against Croatia. Andy from Buckna got a special menrion too!
Jason
I'll ask the Clogher men this Sat about that one, play them last game of the season at home still looking for our first win!!!
Ah Gerry the man,how r u ?
Looking forward to seeing wee N'iron beaten the Slovaks tonite, not going to the match, but I think its on TV is'in it?
Vic i hope young Jason doesn,t get hit into that river like you did !!! he should bring a few old balls just in case !! Is anyone going to Windsor to- night ? any predications ?
Stevie
Unfortunatly the wee brothers not playing think he has 11 wkts in 2 games against yous so youll be happy not to see him.
Vic
Its took years to get that inswinging full toss just right :P ive also got a slower ball "bouncer" just ask the clogher boys :)
Stevie,
Yes it turned out to be another 'epic', our batsmen at the end just ran out of steam and just like our game at your place played in the best of spirit.
Stevie, watch out for Mr Maxwell's inswinging full toss when your playing Millpark, it can be lethal!!!
Jason, in work but not fit enough to run to the toilet never mind 22 yards. Gonna have to shorten my run-up! We're looking forward to the game on Sunday, After the game, maybe the Maxwells from Dundrum will be the happier clan this time around.
