congratulations to the "Northern" umpires in reclaiming the White Stick trophy. Some interesting pix on the CE site - bit of a Sleight of hand by Jeff but then maybe he was trying to avoid PLO'H offering a "cure". "The Umpire" looks remarkably well especially after Friday night at Moylena!
Just a wee thought for the Norn Iron man - should he not be down at the PSNI with all his facts about the riots at the soccer game?

still fly fishing - waitng for a bite - in Buckna

Mark from Norn Iron - please keep "not reading" my postings. Disappointed that you didn't tell me to go and live in the Republic. I don't know who you are (maybe not a negative thing!) and it is patently clear to all the people who know me that your rantings shows that you really haven't a clue who I am. But keep biting big son - its guys like you who make my day!! On a different point - the Ballymena Times reported this week that Ballymena 2s had to beat Carrick 2s to stay in Sect 1 of the League. Can anybody post a result? As Muckamore 2s will be in that Section next season I have an interest in who they'll be playing. And glad to see English Contingent has woken up again!

Re Big Dave

I reckon the next fundraiser Cliftonville CC have should be a charity boxing match between you and Staffy - I would pay good money to see that Froggy!

Ps. Paul - before you ask you wouldn't have played against me and this is my real name.

Don't worry Andy, maybe if you go to the bookies they might feel sorry for you and give you your money back.....

Here Ego's again

Us non premier league players play as hard and fast as the big boys, we just don't need an audience or our name in the Newsletter for some sort of self appreciation.A couple of buns at tea are the only reward i seek away from the boundaries edge.

As for being self proclaimed clubman of the century, well surely that's for others to decide. I'm just more than happy to give those players that are following behind me whatever assistance they require. Cliftonville retaining Senior league status is reward enough.

The Davy Hamilton Scorers shed has a nice ring to it though!!!

Mark from Belfast. Sorry if I mixed you up from Mark from norn iron.

Perhaps if you gave your full name when posting then those mix ups wouldn't occur. You have right though that everyone is entitled to their opinion and giving your full name would probably make it more valid not less. Just a thought?

PS: I fallen into the trap of winding up Cliftonville players again when it was just meant for self proclaimed Club man of the Century, Davy Hamilton. Sorry big man hope I didn't touch a nerve but cricket is all about sportsmanship outside of Premier League, isn't it?

I'm bad, I'm bad , you know it!

Mr Stafford

When keeping a tidy book accuracy is everything.

For the record.

The player in question was on 98 not out. He got to that score aided by flagrant cheating by his own team mate. A run out by a country mile , not given. It was four no balls (was a while ago, no one for the no ball and i recall you still playing then).
As for the 'spirit of Cliftonville' , Unlike our opposition that day , I don't reward cheating . No rules broken, no pending court cases , just one tearful batsman left to reflect on how i personally right my wrongs and hopefully a lesson learned.

Paul, you wide off the Mark. I'm still Belfast not Norn Ireland so you have generated another fan. We (royal or otherwise) all have opinions and they should be respected. I confess I still sneak a look at your column so I can't be all bad?

Paul,
The same rant to do with cricket that andy's has, or does your non mention of his indicate your support...? "I'm sure Nile Smith will recall the fairy tale of the King's New Clothes. Why does the English media remind me of that story?"

Mark (who has no surname) formerly of Belfast but now from norn iron.

Could you tell me what your post/rant has to do with cricket?

Also it amuses me greatly when you refer in your postings as 'we'.
eg. 'we' are all sick to the teeth of it, and 'we' don't read his columns any more, etc.

As nobody knows who you are it is safe to assume your opinions are your own and you speak for noone else. Unless of course it is the royal 'we'. Are you Mark Phillips, former husband of the Princess Royal?

Froggie
I'm sure you keep a tidy book. At least that way you can't bowl 5 wides to end a game and deny someone on 99 his maiden hundred. 'Spirit of Cliftonville' isn't just the football team!! Winter well my friend.

I am a norn iron man, not anti english like you. But you need to listen to the norn iron commentators and the media here and you will see exactly the same thing. When we win we're great, when we lose its hush hush. Even the riots in Belfast during the Poland match were blamed on the Poles. I know for a fact it was norn iron men started it. If you hate the English so much, either stop taking the handouts from the English tax payers that are keeping this country afloat, or change the record. Keep your anti English ravings to yourself, we are all sick to the teeth of it.

I'm sure Nile Smith will recall the fairy tale of the King's New Clothes. Why does the English media remind me of that story? I would have the occasional flutter and my very, very limited success is based on short odds. Writing this at 9:40 a.m. and I predict a Sri Lanka win today. But don't just take my word for it - a certain Mr. Toal is of the same opinion!! I suggest you get on them before the odds shorten.
