as the season draws closer any predictions for section 1 any 1 think that muckamore will be beatable?
Noticed a change in the wind today when I was out & about, the birds also seemed to be looking busy, thinking about building nests I assume. So I would be fairly confident the weather is going to take-up at last!!
Probably from Friday onwards I reckon,so good news for cricket club groundsmen and teams around the country, looking to get outside and start out-door practise next week!
Davey Moira,
You usually find that tailenders from the Southern Hemisphere are as good as openers here!
It's true Greg,I'm vulnerable to the 'moving ball, but when you give one a bit of 'flight'; the batsman has time for a quick cuppa & half a kit-kat before it lands again!!
And BTW, at least I hit the stumps a couple of times yesterday up at the cricket factory, which is more than you manage all season!!!!
Finally, I am proud to announce that Victor Mpitsang is the new professional of Waringstown Cricket Club. He has played two one day Internationals for South Africa and im delighted that we have signed a quality fast bowler. The only problem is he is a tailend batsman. But its great that we have finally signed someone!
Well Vic, your getting to be like Mr Johnston every day just full of HOT AIR BTW my trundlers always get you out as you slash the bat about as though you were trying to swat a fly ,its the curved ball all the time me old friend
did you lose many balls on the motorway lol !!! good one Big DH he he !!
The jury's still 'out' on that Greg?
But would'nt you just love to know!!!
When the guy turned the dial up it was awesome, such a difference from facing your 8mph trundlers every Monday nite!!
Well Vic , lets cut out all the waffle lets get down to the facts , how many times did the machine get you OUT ?? what speed was it bowling at the time ??and how fast did you bowl ???? come on we all need to know and stick to the truth !!! are there any witnesses , this post is sponsered by Grin & Bear IT ,Backwood Road ,Moira
Just back home with the family after a great day out up at Junction one in Antrim.
The wife got on with the shopping and my eldest son and I enjoyed ourselves at the Muckamore C.C. cricket factory.
Many thanks to Andy Clemment,Andy McCullough & Don for the tips and coaching lessons,my young fella really enjoyed himself and I loved facing the bowling machine.
Thanks again chaps and good luck to Muckamore this new season, well done.
(Might even get back up tomorrow,Mrs Johns likes the shopping up there!!!)

Park Ranger
I do play! A little bit of leg spin and a lower order batsman that pushes little ones and twos!
As for the professional. I really have no idea what is going on I just hear this stuff.
thinking of hibernation - the postings are a bit thin on the ground. One would think that some clubs have placed an embargo on members stating opinions on the forum.
Aye very funny big Davey H. we'll see about that tomorrow,up at Junction 1 and BTW good to see ur out of 'Hibernation'!!! must be cricket time soon??
Bit late to still be looking for a pro, is it not?
You not play yourself Davey?
Wayne, United's goal was a handball so that evens it up a bit.
New Zealand pro not coming to Waringstown because he can't get a visa so we are now chasing down a South Africian apparently.
