To all those that are interested David Irvine(DG) underwent a 5 hour op last week to have 4 plates inserted in his face, to hold together his shattered check bone and eye socket. Many thanks to those clubs that sent cards and messages to help in DG's recovery (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE).

interesting to see that the Aussies are starting to find their feet with 2 convincing wins on the bounce but then Engerland continue to perservere with Pieterson who my 5 year-year-old grandson calls "a big wooz". "out of the mouths of babes, etc." And I certainly won't post the text I've just received about the footballer Heskey!
P.S. - heard a whisper about a Bangor player taking a hat-trick in successive games. Can anyone confirm and if so - is this a record?

I just want to say how saddened I was to hear about the recent vandalism at Bonds Glen Cricket Club. We played up there last weekend in the Ulster Shield and although we narrowly lost the game, all the players and supporters had a great time. The Bonds Glen players and supporters were very welcoming, sociable and friendly, a credit to their club and the region. From all at Derriaghy CC, I hope this doesnt stop you in your bid for a successful 2010 season.

Re: Michael Shannon
Well done to Michael for getting to 1000 wkts in senior cricket - 29 years playing 1st XI cricket at one club!
However what I hear is that he will play on as he has 10,000 career runs to get to this year!

Re-DK - Michael Shannon

I hear that Big Shannon has definately retired and will play Down the Club from now on and help bring through the next generation.

Well done for an outstanding achievement on the field of play and a popinted example to all those Local "Mercenaries" with umptine clubs to their name.

According to NCU site Ardmore bt Bangor by 1 run D/L method. I thought the Ulster Shield was "run rate" not D/L

NCU England supporter - if one "gets down from a pedestal" then one is at the same level as the "crowd". Surley the way to "stand out" is to be on a pedestal.

You have to hand it to England at present, they're at the 'top of their game' !

A team rich in cultural diversity, full of highly skilled individuals, who play hard as a team and for their captain, the 3x lions shirt and of course their adoring fans.
Already world T/20 champions, now 3 nil up against ODI world cup holders Australia in a 5 match series, is there to be no stopping them ??

Oh if ONLY there was a cricket World-cup this summer, England would 'walk it' ! (he,he he......)

after all the posts on here im still at a loss as to why people want to see the english tema lose. i travel all over ireland in my job and ive noticed that a lot of southern irish want to see england do well because they are their neighbours. and in england where i lived at the time of the 94 world cup everyone was supporting ireland. it was the same english media that thought ireland then were world beaters too. so get of your pedestals and stand out from the crowd and follow your nearest neighbour
