SCHOOLS CUP LATEST

The holders of the Ulster Bank Schools Cricket Cup, Foyle & Londonderry College, are through to this year’s semi finals and will play Methodist College who beat last year’s runners-up RBAI by just one wicket off the last ball.

Foyle will have home advantage and in the other semi final Grosvenor Grammar School will travel to Sullivan Upper in Holywood.

Foyle had an overwhelming 130-run victory over Regent House; Sullivan Upper beat Friends’ School by 40 runs and Grosvenor Grammar had a three wicket victory over RBAI Seconds.

Quarter final round details:

Sullivan Upper 114 (O Matthews 50, K Beckett 3/9). Friends’ School 74 (J Hamilton 4/21). Sullivan Upper won by 40 runs

RBAI II 140/8 ( C Johnston 36, Bardgett 32, Irvine 5/42, Martin 2/16). Grosvenor GS 144/7 (A Shields 79, Doak 3/42) Grosvenor GS won by 3 wkts

RBAI 158/3 (J Elliott 75 not out, S Balmer 35, B McIIroy 1/11). Methodist College 163/9 (A Berry 69, P McKee 30 not out, M Mairs 3/34, B Alexander 2/32). Methodist College won by 1 wkt

Foyle & Londonderry College 198/6 (J Glenn 58, D Murdock 56, A Clarke 32 not out P Ritchie 2/29). Regent House 68 (T Donnan 23, G McCarter 5/11, N Donnell 2/15). Foyle & Londonderry College won by 130 runs.

Foyle & Londonderry College v Methodist College; Sullivan Upper v Grosvenor GS.
