PORTERFIELD OUT OF FPT

22 May 2008

Ireland will have to do without the services of their captain William Porterfield for their Friends Provident Trophy games against Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire

The 23 year old left hander, scorer of half centuries against Warwickshire and Leicestershire in this season's competition, has been called into the Gloucestershire squad for this weekend.

In his absence, Kyle McCallan will captain the team, and 20 year old Bready left hander Chris Dougherty earns his first call up to the senior ranks. He was a member of the Ireland Under 19 World Cup team which played recently in Malaysia.
