ICC Twenty20 World Cup Qualifying

The Northern Cricket Union of Ireland board last night agreed to close down the weekend of August 2nd & 3rd for all Divisions' fixtures and rearrangements.  The Chairman, Wylie McKinty, confirmed that due to the ICC Twenty20 World Cup qualifying event being held in Belfastover this weekend there should be no NCU fixtures or rearranged fixtures on these two days.

The board agreed to move all Division One fixtures, en bloc, to the bank holiday on Monday August 25th 2008.  The board also agreed that clubs would be permitted to move this fixture back or forward as agreed with both clubs by the agreed cut of date.

The fixtures for Divisions Two and Three will be rescheduled with the General Secretary, Bryan Milford, contacting the clubs to organise this.

TCH Down Democrat Challenge Cup 2008

The NCU board agreed that due to the hosting of the ICC World Cup Qualifying tournament in Belfast, it would be logical to move the date for the TCH Down Democrat Challenge Cup final.   The board thought it would be fairer to the sponsor and teams to not hold the final so close to this major tournament, to be held in the NCU area.
