What is being tipped as a province wide first, shoppers at the Junction One outlet will be given the opportunity to try their hand at a varied range of cricket activities.
Open to participants of all ages and abilities, cricket activities will range from batting and bowling to fielding and catching.
John Jones, Centre Director of Junction One is only too pleased to be helping to showcase the club…..
“With an estimated 80,000 people converging on Junction One over the Easter weekend this is a great opportunity for Muckamore to showcase their club. This initiative is a first for Junction One and very possible a first of its kind in Northern Ireland”
Andy Clement, cricket convenor at Muckamore and Head of Cricket Development for the Northern Cricket Union is delighted that Junction One was able to help……
“It’s fantastic that Junction One were able to help us with this. The idea was to try and give the local community a chance to try a sport (cricket) that they may not have had the chance to try before. We will be offering the chance for participants of all age groups to try and hit a dozen balls in our cricket nets as well as testing out their bowling skills. On top of that we will be hosting catching, fielding and throwing drills, to allow everyone a chance to take part. Who knows, we may unearth the next Freddie Flintoff !
The Antrim club, whose home ground Moylena is found nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Technology Park in Antrim, recently received funding from Sports NI to completely redevelop their cricket training and playing pitches. This will see some of the best cricket pitches in the NCU leagues and will only help the Moylena men push for promotion this term.
Muckamore’s Cricket Factory will be running between 11am – 5pm on the following days:
Friday 2nd April
Saturday 3rd April
Monday 5th April
Tuesday 6th April
So if you fancy trying your hand at any of the cricket activities head along to Junction One this Easter weekend and give it a go.
