HOLDERS OUT OF SCHOOLS CUP

Holders Bangor Grammar have been knocked out in the second round of the Ulster Bank Schools Cricket Cup

They fell heavily to Campbell College by seven wickets in a game badly restricted by rain and the result now paves the way for an all Belfast quarter final tie with last years runners-up RBAI.

The performance of the second round came from “Inst” opening bowler Rory Sheard who returned seven wickets for just nine runs as Dalriada School were dismissed for 49, paving the way for his side’s six wicket win.

Second round details:

Lurgan College 96/4 (24 overs, G Laverty 29, G Lyness 26 not out, L Adair 3/27). Boys Model 56/9 (J Adair 23, C Grieve 4/20, M Carpenter 2/7). Lurgan College won by 40 runs; Wallace High School 153/5 (32 overs, C Adams 48, G Halliday 39, G Eakin 2/24). Regent House 130 (N Burns 36, R Stewart 5/44, A McCollum 2/17). Wallace HS won by 23 runs; Campbell College II 71 (C Cahoon 5/12). Grosvenor Grammar School 72/4 (A Shields 36 not out, C Cahoon 18 not out, J Mahon 3/20). Grosvenor GS won by 6 wkts; Bangor 105/8 (31 overs, J McKeown 44, Christie Harkness 2/11, Andrew Hodgins 2/24, Matthew Knaggs 2/10). Campbell College 82/3(20 overs, revised target: P McMorran 39 not out, M Knaggs 21 not out). Campbell College won by 7 wkts; Dalriada School 49 (R Sheard 7/9). RBAI 50/4. RBAI won by 6 wkts; Foyle & Londonderry College 190/7 (32 overs, G McCarter 46, D McCarter 35, S Logue 25 not out, M Porter 25, M Wright 2/42). Royal School Armagh 105 (H Doyle 26, M Fleming 3/11, M Porter 2/12, N Donnell 2/41). Foyle & Londonderry College won by 85 runs; Ballyclare High School 128/8 (32 overs, C Jennings 43 not out, J Dailley 27, M Palmer 3/24). BRA 130/3 (S Bunting 33 not out, J Kane 23, D Cartmill 22). BRA won by 7 wkts.
