The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a complimentary copy of the award winning ‘Breaking Boundaries’ DVD, which relates the historic adventures of the Ireland cricket team during the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies.
As well as documenting the epic Caribbean experience of the entire squad, the DVD also comes with an hours worth of extras, including unseen footage, outtakes, extended interviews, and press conferences featuring Ricky Pointing, Glenn McGrath and Michael Vaughan talking about Ireland’s performance at the 2007 World Cup.
Documentary maker Paul Davey said of the give-away: “Myself and the co-producers of Breaking Boundaries are delighted to be associated with the visit of Australia to play Ireland.
“Cricket Ireland has been extremely co-operative during the production of the DVD and we hope the complimentary copy will be a nice memento for all the people who attend the match, providing a reminder of the ability, spirit and determination that exists in abundance within Cricket Ireland”.
Since its release, the DVD has won numerous accolades, including being selected as opening film for the Queensland, Australia “Heart of Gold” film festival 2009, and also chosen as the Irish representative as Irish Sports Film for the Chicago Irish Film Festival 2010.
The documentary has enjoyed television screenings on BBC, SBS (Australia), RTE and Setanta, and airline screenings on British Airways, Aer Lingus, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines.
