This will help fund the £3m development of our new ground that will bring it up to International Standard and ease the burden on Castle Avenue and Stormont. Also included will be an Indoor Centre of Excellence for cricket, which will be used by various clubs, regional and national squads.
“The inclusion of a multi-purpose indoor facility will ensure involvement from the local community and a number of other sporting partners, as well as providing cricket facilities all year round for members both senior and youth and for ICU’s national and regional activities. The ECCorganises many regional events inEurope throughout the year and this sort of facility would certainly interest us and our 27 member countries.
Finally I would add that the youth structure of cricket inIreland is exceptional and in order to develop and maintain world class players in the future, the facilities in which they train and practice are integral to this process.”

"This is fantastic news, and everyone at Bready CC should be congratulated for having the breadth of vision to make this facility a reality. We have a unique opportunity in the history of our game to capitalise upon the success of the World Cup, and ensure that we not only retain and increase the numbers of those discovering the game, but also that we develop the means to improve the skills of all that currently participate, especially at the elite level. The proposed centre in Bready is an obvious manifestation of how the game of cricket and Sport Northern Ireland can go about achieving those aims."

ICU CEO
“We have worked hard to merit this award, the clubs vision was to provide an international facility for the North West area for both indoor training and the hosting of International Games, with the funding now in place this vision will soon become reality!
We would like to thank our funding partners SportNI, Strabane District Council and the SLSP, for their support to date, without their ongoing assistance and guidance throughout the funding process, the project could not have been initiated. We are also entering discussions with Derry City Council, who we hope will join this partnership to enhance the success of this regional scheme. To have such a facility in the North West is an enormous boost for the area, and for cricket. The scheme will help Bready Cricket Club the North West Cricket Union, NICA, and ICU governing bodies realise their future development plans.”
