Roger, billy still tells the story and stevy says he took the catch of his life diving in from the boundary to look up and everybody congratulating billy on taking the whole 10 wkts
When you see the lists of clubs no longer in existence it makes you think again of the debate on more or less cricket. It looks like we are already playing less cricket and have a lot less cricketers.
Jason, I remember playing for Carrick v Banbridge in a Section 6 match in the mid seventies. They played at the High School ground and when we arrived they were cutting the wicket using a hand lawnmower! This team didn't last long but I believe there may have been a Banbridge team in the NCU before this. Millpark were certainly going strong at the same time, as it was around this time that they bowled us out for 14 in the Junior cup with Billy McCart taking all ten wickets!
anyone know what happened to banbridge cc??? with millpark being just outside banbridge did we take over???
interesting list from PLO'H - I can add RAF Bishops Court to it - but I WAS very young at the time!!
Paddy's posting brought a few memories, played my first match for Carrick at Lambeg. Some others I remember playing against in the 70's and 80's which are no more include

james i was shocked to. i hope we don't get like north down last year who signed a load of players and only won 1 small 20/20 trophy. but huchinson is a great signing. we need an opening batsman! we opened last year with bowlers like gaz kidd ans simon harrison, who are good bats but good in the middle order. by the way Kosala Kulasekara is the pros name if you want to search him up. proof http://www.cricx.com/viewclient.aspx?ClientID=404&PlayerStatusID=1&PlayerAvailabilityID=2
Lionel Semple
It is very sad to learn of Lionel's passing and on behalf of everyone associated with the Ulster Cricketer we would like to express our sincere sympathy to Lionel's family and in particular Adrian, who many of us will always associate in tandem with his talented brother. Lionel was a fiery character who gave 110% and was up for any challenge. He played in both NCU and North-West cricket with distinction and has left a host of memories in his wake. It is sad that his life was cut so short.
Rest in peace.

To Adrian & the Semple Family - Sincere sympathy & condolences on the sudden passing away of Lionel - a massive character & competitor - gone too soon. Rest in peace. The McCrum Family
This must be a different Waringstown, not the ones who lambast other clubs for 'recruiting' players and saying their pro won't bat above 8 to give the local youngsters a chance!
Davey.
The only people I can see that helping are the Waringstown people. Two top class players. Maybe on reflection it will help Muckamore's promotion bid as Bangor would be a different proposition without Mark Hutchinson.
some news for everybody! Waringstown have signed a new sri lankian pro who is meant to play at a much higher level thank our former pro and mark huchinson and derek heasley are meant to be coming to! hope that helps everybody!
Stevie, sometimes when our firsts our short I'm called up and it can be frustrating having no umpires to officiate, I think they prioritise the games on league level; so quite often we only get one umpire or non at all!
Good one about Tommy, every club has their characters and stories to tell, Dundrum certainly seem to have plenty like ourselves. Great stuff!
Mr.Street, you just concentrate on getting the woodworm out of your new bat!! They ate a big enough hole in the middle of your old one, last season! lol
seen old vic jons in park bowling at one stump mind you he had a wet suit on that boy is keen
