Frost Bitten Groundsman,
Have we recently missed something? Indeed yes. A newly formed association named NICAUS. Has it been formed to rival the 60 year old association called NIACUS? Is the new association for non NIACUS members or can current NIACUS be a member of both?
Seasons greetings to all.

TRUE STORY
On 4th May 2009 "The Times" newspaper reported the following detail of a match between Andhra Pradesh and Kerala held in 1990:
Chamundeswaranagh c Balasabramaniam b Anantapadmanabhan......2
It did not say if it was 1 or 2 scoring shots.
Perhaps the new Chairman of NICAUS could use this for practice or will we have the scorebooks recalled to check the validity of the players.
I`m away back to the grease nipples!!!
Seasons Greetings to all Ulster Cricketers, lets hope for some sun in 2010 :)
here's to a dry 2010. oh ryan you and your jokes! merry xmas to everybody!
Happy Xmas Clarence , ive never been too THESAURUS can u watch sky sports out there & get a bet on the horse racing lol. As for my spelling its actually improved after two operations but as long as im still passionate about the game off cricket and my love off Dunndrum cc ill keep trying too get my point of view over. Dundrum hope too put in more drainage and hope too have double sightscreens at both ends along with new concrete wicket (pity it wasnt on the square)and are presently extending the car park but the best for me is our 1st ever under 13 team in the league an cup as this can be future players for the club ,and plans too put in 2 clay wickets this year, last but not least happy xmas too all the groundsmen and players !ps editor feel free to spell check my posts .pps hope too have couple winners for boxing day posted tomorrow
Merry Xmas to all Ulster Cricketer's! and heres to a dry 2010 season.
Up early on Christmas Eve and just read the editors letter to Santa - brilliant, hilarious and just the thing to get me going on the last shopping day before the big day.
Can I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and let's hope that the cold weather we are getting is a sign that maybe a warm and dry summer is on the way.
Now that would be the one thing I would ask Santa for...
Clarence
Good call for Ian Callender. He's very much a taken for granted guy but he puts many hours into getting our sport publicity. It's far more than just a job to Ian.
PLOH for President ? I think he would see that as demotion. On our little cricket tours to England ( McCormick, McFadden, Clement, Law, McCombe, O'Hara ) he asks to be referred to as God.
Happy Christmas to everyone.
PS,Clarence my weight loss is now at 3st 5lb. I can't wait for the day when I'm called a" thin useless B******"
Clarence, I shall second your excellent Christmas Santa wish list! Brilliant!
And while I'm here, may I personally thank Arthur Bowron of Templepatrick Cricket Club.
Some may remember a couple of months ago I asked here on the forum if anyone could help me with some info. on an old photo of my Grandad Boomer (Orr 1930).
I had given up hope of hearing anything and then out of the blue yesterday evening, Arthur phoned me up and had very kindly taken the trouble to research the Picture of my Grandfather and some of his cricketing colleagues, who had won the McMullen Memorial Cup,playing for Hydepark Cricket Club,Mallusk.1930.
Thanks again Arthur, you have given my father and I a lovely Christmas present and we shall follow up on your reseach in the new year. Thanks again Vic. (Caleb Boomer).
What about the Players Jeff...are we secondclass citizens lol
Thanks Ed on clearing up the CI point.
Sound rather exciting at Moylena then with new facilities. Added to Templepatricks new practice facilites and new wickets going in and Carricks new drainage and the upgrade of Mallusk - could the Antrim area be the future for cricket?
All these new facilities should improve that standard and increase interest in cricket in the area.
Anyone got an idea on the senior cup - shame if there is no sponsor.
HAPPY XMAS AND NEW YEAR TOO THE ALL IN INVOLVED ON THIS GREAT WEBSITE & ALL THE NCU OFFICIALS THAT DO A SUPERB JOB FOR CRICKET IN OUR WEE COUNTRY FROM ALL AT DUNDRUM.
Information on the sod cutting is work in progress the ED confirmed earlier he will kindly run with the story.
Muckamore will play at home in the second half of the season assuming the weather is ok and we get a good grass covering on the six new clay pitches. No games will be played on those pitches in 2010.
All fixtures for all four teams have now been arranged and we are grateful for the co operation from the other clubs. The big challenge is for our own players having to put up with every game being away in May and June and the obvious effect on bar takings.
I think this will be a small sacrifice if we can get international standard pitches to compliment the setting of the ground as well as the planned new practice area.
reference the Muckamore pitches - I would congratulate all those involved in gaining the DCAL finance to proceed with the work. I suppose that we were due something back after 139 years! I understand that there was a sod-cutting ceremony last week with Nelson McCausland in attendance. If anyone from the club has any pictures I'm sure the Ed. would post them. P.S. Noel - I'm not Michael! He takes after his mother while I would be mote tactful!!! Just a wee aside but I note that the "Secretary's report" has been removed from the Ballymena cricket website!
