I know its boring but at least it keeps getting comments! OK- let's change the subject - any big profile signings anywhere in the NCU? anybody moving anywhere?anybody being "poached" - sorry tapped? Interesting postings on the Woodvale site - the only problem that I have is that I remember the guys in the pictures from years ago better that I can recall who I was talking to last Friday- or was it Thursday?

Jim nipped in with a comment - see my comments about the fine being imposed so someone else must have considered it "whinging"!! Also perhaps you could direct me to any adverse commets that I made about the Wilson dismissal. I think the decision was correct for the reasons that I stated earlier. And perhaps you regard me as a "whinger" when I say that I felt that perhaps Mr. Kaplan could have made a better call on Saturday! Don't think it would have made any real difference to the final result as the Ireland backs really must learn to catch the ball!!

funnily enough Steven I e-mailed my thoughts to the ICC and they took it so seriously that they immediately arranged for Mr. Swann to be fined for dissent! These are professional cricketers who are supposedly at the top of their game and should be able to cope.(Don't get me started again about Mr. Personality & the Stormont game!) And in the B'desh match Anderson looked "tired & out of sorts". They are living in top hotels, being transported in luxury coaches and playing one full game a week. Compare that with guys who are working every hour that God sends - if they are lucky to have a job - to make ends meet, worrying about mortgages and, e.g., car payments, etc. Now THEY have the right to feel tired & out of sorts. There was an inetresting article in the DM on Saturday about somewhat notorious London night club The Box. I'm sure his England colleagues will be pleased to learn that KP has been seen there - obviously they provide hernia treatment!!

andy k, whinging poms? are you now and irish aussie? i think that your whinging poms comment is a bit rich especially after all the whinging about wilsons dismissal is concerned!

aye Andy guys just get on with it in the NCU, the fact that its a world cup match and the outcome of the game could be crucial to England going through to the next round is irrelevant i suppose

RE Wills dismissal...anyone else think Da Silva gave him out as "not playing a shot" only after the replay showed he had been hit outside the line. For me the umpire was clever once embarrassed...unlucky.

taito, you say it was a shocker, brendan says it could have went either way. at the end of the day it has happened and cant be changed. if it were my side, and i got plenty to moan about at the minute, there would be people on here commenting on the english moaners!

re Clarence's posting - I recall a BBC radio Ulster a few years ago when Alfie Linehan & LLoyd McKee were discussing the old days in the Downpatrick area where practically every "hole in the hedge" had a team and the better players graduated to Strangford Road. But that's enough about that - what about the whinging Poms this afternoon? Anderson couldn't bowl up an entry and Swann and he were complaining about bowling with a wet ball. In NCU the guys just get on with it!! Who really are the minnows now? Results go the wrong & right way and England could end up 5th!!

Wilson's dismissal was absolutely horrific. How Umpire Da Silva can deem him not to have played a shot when the ball struck the bat is truly bizarre.

MS Dhoni was totally correct after the India v England match in that the technology is not the issue, but more a case that when human interference gets in the way. If video replays can't even ensure that correct decisions are made in line with the rules of the game then the competence of the operators has to be called into question.

Also a point about Wilson's dissent, made because he could see on screen that he was clearly not out before he had left the playing area. If something similar happened in an India match with SRT batting there could be a riot!

Great effort again from Ireland, unfortunately the class and brute force of Pollard made it a bridge too far.

re jim: I dont agree with you at all,as this is a forum i dont need to get over it and get on with since im not playing, so i can give my opinion. it was an absolute shocker, and could cost ireland their place in the quarters. Have to agree although it is inconclusive either way looking at the replays. If that is the case then the batsman should get the benefit of the doubt.Umpire was adamant but which umpire wants to change their decision? Technology has shown how many mistakes are made and at this level it is supposed to rectify those mistakes. Big pity as Gary was going well and he might have done it. Who knows?

what can i say about da silvs decision today.... probably cant say what i really think on here. Absolute shocker how could he deduce an attempted push in to the off side forone was not a shot when we needed 8 and a half an over, absolute disgrace..
