WEEKEND ROUND-UP

18 June 2007

It was a disappointing weekend for Ulster clubs in the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup when some of the province's top clubs fell at the 2nd round stage.

WEEKEND ROUND-UP

Limavady, Brigade and North Down all crashed out in Dublin, Derriaghy provided the only northern winners when they defeated CYM by 4 wickets on the mat, Marty Van Der Merwe top scoring with 76 in their successful run chase.
On Sunday NCU clubs dominated the quarter-finals of the ClubTurf Ulster Cup, setting up two all NCU semi-finals for the first time in the history of the competition.
North Down destroyed a disappointing Donemana side, bowling them out for just 57 to record a convincing 155 run win, while in the North West, Waringstown had 11 runs to spare against a spirited Bready.
Eglinton lost out by 1 wicket in a tense match with Lisburn, the visitors getting home with 13 balls remaining. In the all NCU encounter, Instonians continued their unbeaten start to the season when they chased down CSNI's 172, getting over the line in the 39th over.
The semi-final draw has paired Instonians and Waringstown at Shaw's Bridge and Lisburn will entertain holders North Down at Wallace Park.
