Corporate Sporting Dinner a success for Civil Service North and Cancer Focus NI

Civil Service North of Ireland Cricket Club (CSNICC) recently held a successful Corporate Sporting Dinner in La Mon Hotel and Country Club in East Belfast.

The Dinner was organised to help raise funds for the Club and for their nominated charity, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland. Guests were treated to a champagne and Guinness reception followed by a fabulous meal. The very successful night continued with an auction and raffle with superb prizes such as a holiday in Mauritius, a signed Australia v Ireland cricket bat and paintings by Neil Shawcross and Stephen Forbes up for grabs. The Club are pleased to announce that over £17,500 was raised on the night.

Cancer Focus NI who were the nominated charity for the event and received a £2,500 donation from the Club.

Master of ceremonies for the night was Colin Barkley and entertainment was provided by Tim McGarry, better known as 'Da' from Give my Head Peace. This was followed by music from Martin John.

Following the success of the Dinner, organiser and Club Chairman, Peter McMorran said:"I’m absolutely delighted the CSN Sporting Dinner was such a success for the Club and Cancer Focus NI.  My thanks go to co-organisers Wayne Horwood of Horwood Neil Holmes and Ivan McMinn of Danske Bank for their invaluable assistance in organising the dinner and to Tim McGarry for entertaining us so hilariously on the night.”

Club Committee member and one of the main organisers, Ivan McMinn, said: “our Sporting Dinner was a great success due to the support of our many sponsors and we would like to extend our thanks to the following -AbbeyBondLovis, La Mon Hotel and Country Club, Horwood Neill Holmes, Danske Bank, Chaka Travel, Podium 4 Sport and DTZ McCombe Pierce. Our thanks also go to Cancer Focus, our Charity Partner for the evening, for their involvement and support"
