Hi everyone,
As many of you may be aware already our dad Clarence suffered a stroke following a routine heart op in London last week.
He is still in hospital in the UK receiving medical attention and rehab as he starts his road to recovery.
We would like to thank everyone who has sent very kind messages of support to Clarence and we have conveyed these to him.
In the meantime myself and my sister Clare will be continuing Clarence's work on the UC website and forum something he has been very passionate about over many years, and hopefully he will be back at the helm in the not too distant future.
Kind regards
Steve Hiles & Clare Hiles

It's with a heavy heart that i learn of the passing of Woodvale Stalwart, Jack Storey on 10th February. he will be sorely missed on the boundary edge but always be in our memories. Rest in peace Jack
It is with regret that I learn of the death of Woodvale stalwart Jack Storey. Being old enough to have played against him in his later years I always enjoyed a yarn with him whenever I met him at Ballygomartin Road. I extend my sincere sympathy to Colin and his family circle.
Congratulations Gary Wilson on reaching 200 Ireland appearances tomorrow against PNG. Fantastic achievement for one of Ulster cricket's true sportsmen and well done Ireland for naming him Captain on the day.
I know Gary's Dad George will be very proud and I just wish Mum Iris was still with us to see you reach another milestone in your career.
Well done Gary, we are all very proud of you.
Any clubs interested in a friendly against Donaghadee weekend of 23/24th April give me a shout, away fixtures only
Many thanks to Laurelvale CC who have just completed their initial clothing order for 2016 with us. They will be kitted out in the new Blade range from Surridge.
If your Club hasn't ordered yet or you would like something new then contact john@cartwrights-sports.co.uk for further details on the options available and great prices as well!
We are the Irish agents for the Surridge range.
It is the end of the road for the Ireland Under-19 team after an 8-wickets defeat by South Africa in the 9th place/quarter-final play-off. The Irish batsmen didn't score enough runs and the bowler failed to penetrate the strong South African opening partnership. Wicket-keeper Lorcan Tucker was in a league of his own with the bat, but didn't get enough support. Adam Dennison scored 16 and took one wicket.
Overall a learning curve for the Irish boys, but a marker to what is needed at this level as the standard is high.

Well done Ireland after completing a 145 runs victory over Papua New Guinea to gain maximum points and move back to the top of the Intercontinental Cup league table. It was a another good all round display in the field with all the bowlers getting amongst the wickets. Boyd Rankin was particularly impressive with wickets at a crucial time when PNG were mounting a fightback.
Summary-
IRELAND 289 and 244/5 dec (64 overs; K O'Brien 75*, E Joyce 58, A McBrine 40*, G Wilson 27, L Nou 2/37)
PAPUA NEW GUINEA 188 and 200 all out (73.4 overs; S Bau 45, V Morea 35, J Vare 31, J Reva 21, A Vala 20, B Rankin 3-31, T Murtagh 2-25, C Young 2-50)
Condolences from Dundrum cc to Bryan Milford and family circle on the passing of his mother may she rest in peace
Ireland are now in a strong position moving into the last day of their Intercontinental match with Papua New Guinea after half-centuries from Ed Joyce and Kevin O'Brien plus fine supporting roles from Andy McBrine and Gary Wilson. Set 346 to win PNG will be hard pressed to force the draw if Tim Murtagh, Boyd Rankin, Craig Young and George Dockrell keep their focus.
